I was working a private dinner for a group of comic artists and the stories they were telling about Steranko just in the context of the comic book field were amazing. Steranko on cards is one of my favorite books as well. Thank you for the information you provided Mr Chosse. When Steranko left Marvel Comics in the late 60s to pursue independent projects, Talon--apparently sort of a cross between Conan and science fiction--was to be one of those projects. Unfortunately only a few pieces of art were published. The best was this poster, published by Steranko's company. Folded, as issued. in. x in. July11th, , LOS ANGELES – With the recent addition of Yoshitaka Amano to their signing schedule, Radical Publishing is now extremely proud to announce that award winning comic book writer-artist-historian, graphic artist, publisher and film production illustrator Jim Steranko will be at the San Diego Comic-Con , exclusively for Radical Publishing.   # is the better cover, no doubt. # - is the greatest single issue of Captain America. The opening sequence with Madame Viper, Fury's eulogy at Cap's "funeral" (he gets better), and the insane splashes at the graveyard and vs. the pile of Hydra guys -- in the vein of comic masterpieces, it's right up blowing Steranko.
